Relationship with ITC:
ITC partnered with Headstart back in 1999 when it started hiring in Vidarbha for setting up it sales force in the region. With time, our relationship grew strong and our specialised team worked with the Kolkata HO on a pan-India basis. From shop floor workers to senior management level hiring across the FMCG, Hotels and Tobacco business, we faced a new challenge when ITC discussed with us their hiring plans for e-Chaupal.
Hiring for e-Chaupal:
e-Choupal is an initiative of ITC to link directly with rural farmers via the Internet for procurement of agricultural and aquaculture products like soybeans, wheat, coffee, and prawns. The hiring process required us to consider several factors based on demographics, skillset availability, geography, ease and willingness to relocate apart from the KRAs and KSAs. We designed a special manpower delivery model for ITC based on their internal process requirement and followed a 3 step process.
Planning
With the need for shorter lead times to suit the agility of ITC’s execution, CPM based planning methodologies were deployed for faster TAT
Sourcing
Specialised skillsets were required to handle the unique needs of the program and hired external consultants with expertise in rural hiring
Screening
We worked with the ITC team to not just organise interviews but our A-team travelled across South India with the core team from the client-side
